Flow Cytometry Regulated Project Manager/Senior Scientist

LGC, Newmarket, UK

Job Purpose:

Our group is responsible for developing and validating complex multi-parameter biomarker assays for use in clinical studies to support data contributing to disease heterogeneity, drug-target engagement/MOA and patient responses.  This work is completed within a regulatory framework to deliver high quality analytical data to our clients.

Key responsibilities:

  • Act as Study Director/Analytical Project Manager/Principal Investigator for GLP and GCP validation and sample analysis projects
  • Pro-active management of project timelines, financials, and forecasting team resource to deliver work on time and within budget
  • Maintain awareness of the latest industry best practices and white papers governing flow cytometry method validations
  • Build and sustain good working relationships with internal and external clients, management and other scientific staff
  • You will play an active role in supervising and planning the work of more junior members of the department and contributing to their development and learning

Education, experience and technical skills:

  • Degree in Immunology or a related discipline, or relevant experience within biotech/pharma/CRO
  • Experience of managing projects in a regulatory environment, GLP/GCP (flow cytometry would be an advantage)
  • Creation of regulated documents, study plans, reports, SOPs and procedures   
  • Good technical knowledge of flow cytometry assays an advantage
  • Demonstrated judgment and decision making, especially for prioritizing multiple requests
  • Highly motivated team player with a proactive attitude and ability to interact effectively within a multi-disciplinary team
  • Attention to detail, good communication and documentation skills
  • Proactively demonstrate the ability to work to tight deadlines, both independently and in a team
  • Experience in a GLP/GCP accredited laboratory
  • General immunoassay experience, particularly with immunogenicity and PK is also advantageous
  • Experience in the use of flow cytometry analysis software (FCS Express highly preferred) would be an advantage
