We are seeking three enthusiastic and dedicated postdoctoral researchers to join Dr Louise Boyle's group (http://www.path.cam.ac.uk/directory/louise-boyle) at the Department of Pathology, University of Cambridge. These positions, funded by Wellcome, will work towards understanding the molecular mechanisms controlling peptide selection for immune recognition by major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I molecules. Postdoctoral candidates will be expected to hold a PhD, or equivalent qualification in immunology, biochemistry, virology or a related discipline and have a proven track record of success in biomedical research. In depth knowledge of the MHC class I antigen processing and presentation pathway is desirable.
Position 1: We are seeking candidates that are highly skilled in mammalian tissue culture, molecular biology and have prior experience using CRISPR-Cas9. This project will also involve flow cytometry and analysis of the MHC class I immunopeptidome.
Position 2: Candidates should have experience working with in vivo models, flow cytometry, and imaging techniques. A personal animal licence would be beneficial. Prior experience using a range of biochemical techniques would be advantageous.
Position 3: This project will involve CRISPR genetic screens, flow cytometry, and biochemical techniques combined with proteomic analysis to explore the MHC class I antigen processing and presentation pathway.
The successful applicants will become an integral and valued member of a multi-disciplinary group and will be expected to have strong written and oral communication skills as well as the ability to supervise students. Successful candidates will be expected to design and carry out research both independently and as part of a team.
