We are offering a fully funded PhD position in the Laboratory of Gergely Szakacs at the Institute of Cancer Research, Medical University of Vienna from December 1, 2020.
The Research Project:
We are seeking an exceptionally motivated PhD student to identify and characterize novel molecular regulators of cancer cell survival and metastatic growth following chemotherapeutic drug treatment with the focus on breast cancer, using cancer cell line, tumor organoid and genetic mouse cancer models. This project will primarily involve clonal tracing by barcoding, standard and 3D organoid cell culture, NGS (RNA-seq), mouse work, histology, in vitro and in vivo live imaging and molecular biology techniques for gene editing, DNA, RNA and protein analysis.
Experiences in mouse models of cancer, cellular and mouse models of drug resistance, 3D cell culture, CRISPR/Cas9, NGS or barcoding are of advantage.
