The Division of Experimental Medicine (experimentalmedicine.ucsf.edu) at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) is seeking a Director for the Core Immunology Lab (coreimmunology.ucsf.edu), a fee-for-service and research laboratory housed within the Division. The Director should be a visionary researcher in immunology and infectious diseases who is excited to join and contribute to our vibrant and collaborative discovery research community. This open-rank faculty position will be the leader of the Core Immunology Lab, with a dual focus on developing and sustaining innovative collaborative research partnerships and provide administrative direction to the day-to-day research operations.

Candidates are expected to hold an MD, PhD, MD/PhD (or equivalent experience), to have demonstrated leadership and administrative experience in a fee-for-service laboratory environment, and the potential to lead laboratory aspects of large-scale collaborations involving translational research in immunity to infectious diseases.

The successful candidate will be expected to establish and maintain research partnerships to sustain the operations of the lab, actively contribute to research collaborations within the Division of Experimental Medicine, and to seek additional project opportunities and partnerships. Further, this this candidate will provide direct oversight and management to the daily operations, including strategic planning, financial management, staff planning, and close collaboration with the University Research Resource Program.
