Applications are invited for the post of HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist in this innovative department which is dedicated to quality, professional development and training.
Gloucestershire Hospitals NHSFT is one of the largest hospital trusts in the country, providing care for more than 850,000 people. This includes specialist care for patients from the area surrounding Gloucestershire.
Pathology services are based at Cheltenham General and Gloucestershire Royal Hospitals. Both laboratories are well equipped and perform a full range of routine investigations. GP requests and specialised work are centred on one site; Immunology, haemoglobinopathies, warfarin dosing advice plus GP work at Gloucester with flow cytometry and haematinics at Cheltenham. We have just installed new coagulation analysers and will be replacing our blood grouping analysers within the forthcoming year. We are also implementing a new LIMS system which will be fully integrated into the Trust clinical IT system.

We are looking for an HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist with post registration experience in Haematology and Blood Transfusion. The successful candidate will work at both Gloucestershire Royal Hospital and Cheltenham General on a rotational basis. There is a regular, free bus service between the two sites.
Both sites offer a 24 hour service and participation in extended working day and overnight working is required. We currently pay a supplementary payment for out of hours working above the normal Agenda for Change rates (subject to ongoing approval)
Less experienced candidates with post registration experience in Haematology will be considered for band 5 positions
